1. Overview
TrustRecord is the verified operating record registry for service businesses, operated by TrueSignal, Inc. (“TrueSignal,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). This Privacy Policy describes how we access, use, and protect business data when you connect your systems to TrueSignal.
TrueSignal is designed to surface verified business operating data without exposing personally identifiable information. Our data pipeline extracts aggregated operational metrics, not individual customer records.
2. Data We Access
When you connect your business systems via read-only OAuth, TrueSignal accesses aggregated operational data, including:
- Job and invoice history (counts and categories, not individual amounts)
- Customer counts and retention metrics
- Service categories and job type distribution
- Geographic distribution of completed work
- Operating duration and business activity timelines
3. Data We Do Not Collect
TrueSignal does not collect, store, or process:
- Customer names, addresses, phone numbers, or email addresses
- Customer payment information or credit card details
- Individual transaction amounts or line-item pricing
- Employee personal information
- Any data that would identify an individual customer or end user
If PII is incidentally encountered during data extraction, it is excluded from processing and not stored or published.
4. How We Use Your Data
Data accessed through connected systems is used for the following purposes:
- Computing verified operating metrics according to standardized calculation rules
- Publishing your TrustRecord at trustrecord.com and on your own domain
- Generating embeddable verified metrics badges
- Structuring data in machine-readable formats (JSON, JSON-LD) for AI systems and search indexers
- Performing regular automated refreshes to keep your record current
5. Data Sharing
TrueSignal does not sell, rent, or share your raw business data with third parties. Your data is used solely to compute and publish your TrustRecord.
Aggregated, anonymized data that cannot be attributed to any individual business may be retained for internal analysis, benchmarking, and product improvement.
6. Your Control Over Your Data
You maintain control over your TrustRecord data at all times:
- Select which verified metrics appear on your published record
- Hide any metric from public display at any time
- Disconnect any connected data source at any time
- Request complete deletion of your data from TrueSignal’s systems
Published metric values are computed by TrueSignal and cannot be edited or overridden. You control visibility; TrueSignal guarantees accuracy of displayed values.
7. Public Publication
Metrics you choose to display are published in AI-readable formats at trustrecord.com and, optionally, on your own domain. Published data includes computed operating metrics, service area information, credential status, and business entity details.
TrueSignal never publishes raw business data, individual transaction records, or customer information. Only standardized, aggregated metrics are made public.
8. Security
TrueSignal employs industry-standard security measures to protect all data in our systems:
- Encryption in transit using TLS 1.2 or higher
- Encryption at rest using AES-256
- Read-only API connections to all source systems
- Least-privilege access controls for all internal systems
- Continuous monitoring and logging of data access events
9. Third-Party Services
TrueSignal uses the following categories of third-party service providers:
- Payment processing: Stripe processes all subscription payments. TrueSignal does not store payment card information.
- Hosting and infrastructure: Our services are hosted on industry-standard cloud infrastructure with appropriate security certifications.
- Analytics: We use analytics providers to understand how users interact with our platform. Analytics data does not include your business operating data.
